What is the ruling on thinning eyebrow hair?

It is forbidden for a woman to pluck her eyebrows, as this is considered namṣ (plucking) for which the doer is cursed. Some scholars deem it disliked to trim or shape them, while others prohibit it, considering it namṣ, which is not exclusive to plucking but includes any alteration of facial hair not permitted by Allah. A woman should not do this unless the hair is so thick that it affects her vision; in such a case, there is no harm in removing what is harmful.
