Is it permissible for a husband to commit suicide or remain in a marriage based on coercion, or divorce the wife he does not love and who is not religiously committed?
It is not permissible to force a child to marry someone they do not desire. You have already consummated this marriage and had a child. If you can be patient and kind to her, then do so, in accordance with the saying of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: "A believing man should not hate a believing woman. If he dislikes one of her characteristics, he will be pleased with another." If the marital relationship deteriorates, then divorce might be the better option, in accordance with His, the Almighty's, saying: "But if they separate, Allah will enrich each of them from His abundance. And Allah is ever Encompassing and Wise." Custody of the child after divorce belongs to the mother, unless she remarries or there is an impediment. We recommend treating the child well in all circumstances. Suicide is misery in this world and the Hereafter.
