The sun rising from the West is one of the major signs of the Hour, and this has been mentioned in authentic hadiths, such as the one in Sahihayn: "The Hour will not be established until the sun rises from the West. When it rises from the West, all people will believe. But on that day, no soul will benefit from its faith." This is how the verse from Surat Al-An'am was interpreted: "Do they await but that the angels should come to them or your Lord should come or some of the signs of your Lord should come? The Day some of the signs of your Lord come, no soul will benefit from its faith if it had not believed before or had gained through its faith some good. Say, 'Wait; indeed, we are waiting.'" Miracles, for the most part, do not have a scientific explanation.
