The general objective behind the Conquest of Mecca was to invite people to Islam and remove the barriers that prevented them from embracing it. The specific objective was for the Prophet, peace be upon him, to aid his allies from the Khaza'ah tribe after Quraysh attacked them and violated the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah. The Prophet, peace be upon him, took meticulous military measures to enter Mecca with the least possible fighting. He prepared the army in complete secrecy, ordered them to break their fast to strengthen the soldiers, and lit fires to intimidate Quraysh. This led to Abu Sufyan embracing Islam and declaring amnesty for whoever entered his house, or closed his door, or entered the Mosque. Despite the magnitude of the conquest, the number of casualties was very low due to these military measures, the sanctity of the place, and the Prophet's mercy, as he ordered not to fight anyone unless they fought them.
