What is the ruling of Islamic law regarding a man who unintentionally committed an act of sodomy, knowing that he is married with children, lives far from his wife whom he had previously divorced twice, and cannot afford to pay the deferred dower or child support in the event of a divorce?

You must initiate sincere repentance for the great sin you have committed. This involves abandoning the sin, regretting it, and resolving never to return to it. You must distance yourself from everything that might lead you back to indecency, fast frequently, associate with people of knowledge and righteousness, and regularly observe dhikr and prayer in the mosque. Know that Allah accepts the repentance of whoever repents, no matter how great their sin, and that turning away from Allah is a cause for a miserable life. Your falling into this disobedience does not affect your wife remaining under your marital authority, and we do not advise divorcing her. Rather, try to bring her to you or travel to her every six months, as it is impermissible to be away from one's wife for more than six months without her permission.
