What is the ruling on delaying wearing the niqab—despite being convinced of its obligation—for the purpose of memorizing and refuting the misconceptions related to it, as the father sees fit? Is it permissible to disobey him in this matter and wear it?

A woman must cover her face from non-mahram men. If she believes this is obligatory, then she is not permitted to obey her father in abandoning it, for obedience to parents is not in acts of disobedience [to Allah]. It is incorrect to link wearing the niqab to exposure to doubts (shubuhat), because that opens the door to questioning all other religious obligations and beliefs. What is legally preferable is to avoid listening to doubts.
