Is a man who claims to be a sorcerer and performs supernatural acts, such as walking on water and flying in the air, a sorcerer in the Shar'i (Islamic legal) sense? Can these things be done through sorcery? And is it permissible to watch him?

We cannot judge a person about whom we know nothing. Anyone who flies in the air or walks on water claiming to possess magic is a deceitful charlatan, whether they achieve this through magic or other means. It is Islamically forbidden to go to them or watch them, as this is like consulting soothsayers and diviners, which is forbidden by Islamic law. Al-Akhdari warned against being deceived by such individuals, saying: "If you see a man flying or walking on the surface of the sea, and he does not adhere to the commands of the Sharia, then he is being lured [into error] and is an innovator."
