What is the ruling on hanging photographic images of animate beings on the wall in the house?

It is not permissible to hang photographic images on walls, due to the veneration this may lead to, especially if the person in the image holds a high position, or is someone by whom weak-hearted people might be tempted, or if it is one of the parents. It is safer not to hang them even if temptation is assured to be absent, in order to avoid the disagreement regarding the impermissibility of photography.
