It is prescribed for a worshipper praying while seated to clasp (place his right hand over his left) during recitation, as the jurists stated: "It is to place one's hands below his chest and above his navel when standing, or in its stead." Similarly, it is recommended for one praying while seated to sit cross-legged for recitation and in the iftirash position for prostration.
