What is the ruling on being appointed to a government position through mediation and receiving money without going to work, knowing that the state does not give its citizens their due?

If the appointment is made through an intermediary (wasta), it is permissible provided that the person is competent for the job and that this mediation does not result in injustice to anyone. As for receiving a salary without going to work, this is a form of consuming wealth unjustly and is not permissible. The injustice of the state towards its citizens does not permit infringing upon its wealth without a rightful cause. A Muslim must fulfill their obligations and ask Allah for what is theirs.
