Does the continuation of a marital relationship devoid of affection and mercy solely for the sake of the children make it last, or is divorce and raising children without problems the better solution for the children's psychological well-being?

The questioner is advised to fear Allah and stay away from foreign men because the relationship between a man and a foreign woman is forbidden. He should beware of Satan's incitement to seek a divorce from his wife, as the Prophet forbade this, saying: "No woman should ask for the divorce of her sister to empty what is in her vessel." The questioner's relationship with the man is a kind of destruction of his home, even if he does not intend it, because a man's preoccupation with another woman makes him lose interest in his wife and makes him averse to her. As for a husband's dislike of his wife, it does not necessitate divorcing her. Allah has commanded to hold on to one's wife even if he dislikes her. Allah Almighty says: "And live with them in kindness. For if you dislike them - perhaps you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good." Not all homes are built on love; some may be based on the interests of the children and preserving the family unit. Also, it is not permissible for a man to marry again if he is not able to be just, as Allah Almighty says: "But if you fear that you will not be just, then [marry only] one or those your right hand possesses."
