The answer

According to the majority of scholars, it is permissible to lease an asset for the duration it remains, and there is no maximum limit for the lease term. Their evidence is the Almighty's saying: (on condition that you hire me for eight years; but if you complete ten, it will be [a favor] from you). And the law of those before us is a law for us, as long as there is no evidence to abrogate it. Also, because what is permissible to contract for one year is permissible for more, like selling, marriage, and agricultural partnerships. What the majority has gone to is closer to the truth. And the lease term must be specified to negate ambiguity.
