Is it permissible for a wife to refuse her husband’s request not to smile in a passport photo, and is this considered disobedience to him?

You did well in commanding your wife not to show softness or subservience, or anything that could lead to fitna. Your wife did wrong when she disobeyed you, and she must repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness.
