Is a smoker considered a supporter of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, and what is the extent of Muhammadian support?
Smoking is forbidden, and we have clarified its ruling in a previous fatwa. It is part of the prohibitions that must be abandoned to support the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Whoever smokes has violated a part of this support, but he must abandon smoking and other forbidden things and continue to support the religion, because what cannot be fully attained should not be entirely abandoned. Supporting the Prophet is by adhering to what he brought of the religion, and we advise learning this religion and adhering to its boundaries.
