What is the benefit of the phrase "what he left" in the verses of inheritance, such as the Almighty's saying: (half of what he left... two-thirds of what he left), knowing that in cases of 'awl (proportional reduction of shares), the proportion to the estate is not half or two-thirds?

The Almighty's saying (what he left) means the entire inheritance, and the shares of the heirs are a proportion of this inheritance. It is complete if the sum of the shares equals the origin of the problem. If it exceeds that, "al-awl" (proportional reduction) occurs, and each share is reduced according to its proportion. The explicit mention of specific shares in the Qur’an provides knowledge of the rightful portion for each heir and the amount of this right relative to the other heirs, in proportion to the total inheritance. From this, the original number of shares and the extent of the reduction or increase can be known. The inheritance of the husband and wife and all other shares are not reduced, except for what al-awl reduces, according to the majority of scholars. If the prescribed shares do not encompass the wealth, then al-awl enters the prescribed share, according to all the Companions, except for what was narrated from Ibn Abbas.
