What are the correct supplications for protection from major shirk, major disbelief, and hypocrisy?

Achieving Tawhid (monotheism) and shunning Shirk (polytheism) and Nifaq (hypocrisy) are the greatest pursuits for a Muslim. This is attained by seeking help from Allah and relying upon Him, as in His saying, "It is You we worship and You we ask for help" (Quran 1:5). Ibrahim and Isma'il (peace be upon them) supplicated with this, "Our Lord, and make us Muslims in submission to You and from our descendants a Muslim nation in submission to You" (Quran 2:128), and "and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols" (Quran 14:35). There are many prophetic supplications, including:

- "Guide me to the best of characters, for none guides to the best of them except You, and turn away from me the evil of them, for none turns away from me the evil of them except You."

- "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from poverty and disbelief, and from wickedness, and discord, and hypocrisy, and seeking fame, and showing off."

- "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from associating anything with You knowingly, and I seek Your forgiveness for what I do not know."

- "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from disbelief and poverty. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave. There is no god but You."
