What is the divine wisdom behind honoring the children of Adam above all other creatures, and does this honor include all creatures or most of them, and who are those who surpassed the children of Adam in honor if the honoring was for most creatures and not all of them?
All praise is due to Allah. Allah honored the children of Adam and favored them over many of His creatures, as stated in His Almighty saying: (And We have certainly honored the children of Adam and carried them on the land and sea and provided them with good things and preferred them over much of what We have created, with [definite] preference.) Al-Isra/ 70.
This honoring includes: 1. Creating them in the best stature and form, and granting them hearing, sight, and hearts. 2. Providing means of transportation on land and sea. 3. Providing them with good things from crops, fruits, meats, milk, beautiful sceneries, and fine clothes.
Allah, the Exalted, is unique in creation and choice, and He possesses ultimate wisdom in His management, as He Almighty said: (And your Lord creates what He wills and chooses.) Al-Qasas/ 68.
Among the wisdoms of this honoring is that the children of Adam accepted the trust of responsibility, and from them are the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, the righteous, the scholars, the workers, those who enjoin good, and those who forbid evil.
The favoring of the children of Adam over "many" creatures does not mean favoring them over all creatures, such as angels. A disbeliever among the children of Adam is not better than the angels. The reference for knowing the preference is the Sacred Law, not reason.
