Among the conditions for zakat becoming obligatory on wealth is the attainment of the nisab (minimum threshold). Zakat is not obligatory if the gold or money does not reach the nisab. If the jewelry is not intended for adornment, zakat becomes obligatory on it if it reaches the nisab, and it is added to the money, as they are of the same kind. However, if the jewelry is for personal use, the preponderant view among scholars is that zakat is not obligatory on it.
