What is the ruling on designating a day for playing by wearing and eating food of a specific color merely for amusement?

The game of spending an entire day in a specific color is a form of amusement and play that involves several prohibitions, including:

1. Exposure of Women: This includes the appearance of women in public videos or in front of relatives, showcasing their clothes and makeup, and their shopping activities. This is forbidden due to their exposure to non-mahram men and their speaking in a soft manner, which contradicts the command to lower the gaze and guard one's private parts. Allah Almighty says: (O wives of the Prophet, you are not like anyone among women. If you fear Allah, then do not be soft in speech [to men], lest he in whose heart is disease should covet, but speak with appropriate speech) [Al-Ahzab/32]. And Allah Almighty says: (Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what they do. And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof) [An-Nur/30-31].

2. Wasting Time: The game wastes a lot of time on something that yields no benefit, along with the artificiality it entails. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (The feet of a servant will not move on the Day of Resurrection until he is asked about his life and how he spent it...).

3. Wasting Money: Money is squandered on buying items of a specific color. Wasting money, extravagance, and squandering have been prohibited. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (Indeed, Allah has forbidden for you: ... and wasting money). And Allah Almighty says: (And eat and drink, but be not excessive. Indeed, He likes not those who commit excess) [Al-A'raf/31], and (Indeed, spendthrifts are brothers of devils) [Al-Isra/26]. The prohibition of wasting time and money remains even if the game is limited to women.

4. Offering Prizes: If the game includes prizes, this is another prohibition, because prizes are only permissible in শরী'ah-approved competitions such as horse racing, camel racing, or archery, and what is annexed to that which aids in jihad. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (There is no [permissible] competition except in shooting, or with a camel, or with a horse).

If the game involves something forbidden, it is forbidden. If it is free from prohibitions, then the least of its rulings is reprehensibility due to the waste of time involved.
