Are the eyes and ears among the physical (jawarihi) or verbal (nutqiyah) actions?

The tongue, lips, teeth, gums, uvula, palate, and throat have the function of speech. The eye has the function of sight. The ear has the function of hearing. The "jawarih" (limbs/organs) are the organs of earning (kasb), and the term is applied to the body parts through which earning occurs. Thus, the eye, ear, and tongue are among the "jawarih" because each is an organ of the human being. Therefore, Ibn Uthaymeen's statement: "I do not know of any of the "jawarih" that is more active than the tongue, unless it be the eye or the ear," refers to the general meaning of "jawarih" which includes all other body organs.
