Is what is meant by the Hadith of the Two Weighty Things following the Qur'an and what is narrated from the Household of the Prophet (Ahl al-Bayt), and does this mean that the Shi'a are correct?

"The Hadith of the Two Weighty Things" is the Prophet's (peace be upon him) testament regarding his household (Ahl al-Bayt), enjoining their honor and the preservation of their status and position. It is impermissible for the meaning of this Hadith to be the obligation to refer to the Imams of the household in times of dispute, for the following reasons:

1. From a Sharia Perspective: Allah commanded us to refer to His Book and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace be upon him) in times of dispute: "And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger." (Quran 4:59). Infallibility belongs to no one but the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). The Companions themselves differed, and Ali's opinion was not binding on others.

2. From a Rational and Realistic Perspective: The Ahl al-Bayt today are very diverse; among them are Sunnis, Sufis, Zaydis, and Rafidah (Shiites). The intended meaning of "the progeny" (al-'Itrah) whose consensus is a proof, are the scholars from the household who adhere to the guidance of the Prophet (peace be upon him), not everyone who claims descent from Banu Hashim.

3. The members of the household themselves did not agree on the specific characteristics of the Rafidah (Shiite) doctrine.
