What is the ruling on imitating the mannerisms and movements of a group of people who have a deficiency, for the sake of joking and laughter, and without singling out anyone?

The fundamental principle is that it is impermissible to mock a Muslim, or to laugh at them, or to imitate them in a derisive manner concerning their profession or lineage. Allah Almighty says: "O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them." Therefore, imitating people of a certain profession or inhabitants of a certain land with the intention of mockery is a reprehensible behavior. Mockery is defined as belittling, disdaining, and pointing out flaws, and it can be done through imitation by action, speech, gesture, or signaling.
