How can a high school student, whose exams are in two months, reconcile intensive study with acts of worship during Ramadan, especially regarding completing the Quran and performing night prayers, taking into account that the most suitable time for her to study is after Fajr and that she goes to school during the day?

Your feeling of regret over missing acts of worship is a sign of true faith. Strive to combine studying and acts of obedience in Ramadan. You can sleep early and wake up an hour before Fajr for prayer (Qiyam) and then study. As for what you are unable to do because of studying, the Shari'ah indicates that if a servant is prevented from an act of obedience that he used to perform regularly, due to an excuse, he will be credited with its reward. This is based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: «If a servant falls ill or travels, he is credited with the like of what he used to do when he was a resident and healthy,» and his saying during a battle: «Indeed, there are people in Medina behind us who, whenever we traversed a mountain path or a valley, they were with us in it, held back by an excuse.» Therefore, a sincere intention brings reward even when there is an excuse.
