Does taking a COVID-19 test during the daytime in Ramadan break one's fast, knowing that the swab might be taken from the mouth or nose?

There is no objection to performing a COVID-19 test or swab during daylight hours in Ramadan, whether the swab is taken from the mouth or the nose. The insertion of the swab tool into the throat or nose does not invalidate the fast, as it is not food or drink, nor does it carry their meaning, and nothing from it reaches the stomach. This is the view chosen by Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and a group of scholars. Similarly, a gastroscopy does not invalidate the fast if it is not accompanied by the introduction of liquids, and the same applies to the swab.
