Is a girl who leaves without the permission of her father or guardian cursed by the angels, just as a wife who leaves without the permission of her husband is cursed?
The jurists have agreed on the حرمة (prohibition) of a wife leaving her home without her husband's permission, except out of necessity or for a شرعي (religiously obligatory) duty. A wife who does so is considered "ناشزًا" (disobedient/rebellious). Similarly, a girl should not leave her guardian's home without his permission, and he bears the responsibility of protecting and disciplining her. No authentic hadith has been reported cursing the wife who leaves her husband's house without his permission; any narrations to that effect are weak. Therefore, it is forbidden for women to leave without the permission of their guardians, whether they are married or unmarried. However, this does not entail being cursed by angels, due to the inauthenticity of the hadiths mentioned in this regard.
