What is the ruling on apostasy from the religion of Islam at the present time, and is the blood of an apostate who does not spread anti-religious ideas permissible, and have some Muslims in Egypt converted to Christianity, and what is the position of Islamic law concerning them?

The most severe dangers facing Muslims are those that threaten their faith and their spiritual existence. Apostasy from Islam is the greatest means by which enemies conspire against the religion, using various methods, as Allah Almighty says: "And they will continue to fight you until they turn you back from your religion if they are able." [Al-Baqarah: 217]. Muslims have been subjected to fierce invasions aimed at uprooting Islam from their souls, represented by the intellectual, cultural, and missionary invasion that accompanied Western colonialism, the communist invasion, and the secular irreligious thought that is hostile to true Islam. It is the Muslim's duty to preserve his religion and resist apostasy in all its forms by enjoining good, forbidding evil, and inviting to Allah. The implementation of the apostasy punishment is among the prerogatives of the ruler (Wali al-Amr) after establishing proof, fulfilling conditions, removing impediments, and offering repentance. In this regard, there is no difference between one who calls to his apostasy and one who does not, except that one who calls to his apostasy and spreads his ideas is more severe in disbelief and apostasy.
