What is the ruling on money acquired from a suspicious source in 2004, and is it permissible to use it in trade or to give it away in charity?

All praise is due to Allah, who has guided you to prayer. And part of perfecting repentance is making up for what has been missed of it. It is obligatory for whoever earns money through unlawful means to repent to Allah, then return the money to its rightful owners if possible. Otherwise, they should donate it to the poor or spend it on the welfare of Muslims.
