Can a human being control their appointed time of death, whether by bringing it closer or deferring it, and are all provisions in the hand of God?

Lifespans and provisions are in the hand of Allah, fixed, neither increasing nor decreasing, in accordance with His Almighty saying: ﴿And Allah will never delay a soul when its appointed time has come﴾ and ﴿And there is no creature on earth but that upon Allah is its provision﴾. For Allah alone is the Creator and Provider, and this is a matter of consensus. And these provisions and lifespans are written before the creation of man and the blowing of the spirit into him, as stated in the Hadith of Ibn Mas'ud: "Write his deeds, his provision, his lifespan, and whether he is wretched or happy, then the spirit is breathed into him."
