What is the expiation for an oath, and can it be paid in money to charities without informing them that it is an expiation for an oath, and what is its value in Moroccan Dirhams?

The expiation for an oath is one of three options, given as a choice: feeding ten poor persons (one mudd from the staple food of the country for each poor person, i.e., 750 grams), or clothing ten poor persons (one garment for each poor person), or freeing a believing slave. If one is unable to do any of these, then he must fast for three days. The majority of scholars hold that it is obligatory to give food itself, not its monetary value, while Abu Hanifa and Ibn Taymiyyah permit giving the monetary value if there is a need or benefit for the poor. When giving the monetary value, it is calculated as the price of 750 grams of the staple food of the country multiplied by ten. It is permissible to pay the expiation to reliable charitable organizations, informing them that it is an expiation for an oath, so they may distribute it to ten poor persons.
