Black cats are not jinn, but jinn can take their form and the form of black dogs, because blackness is more conducive to satanic powers. If you suspect the jinn has taken a form, say what is mentioned in the : "I implore you by the covenant Noah took from you, and I implore you by the covenant Solomon took from you, that you do not harm us." It has also been reported regarding house snakes that they should be given three days' notice, and if they appear after that, then they are devils.
