How sound is the statement that whoever Allah marvels at will not be held accountable, and does Allah marvel at anything despite His prior knowledge of it, and does the saying "so that Allah may see something wondrous from me" show a lack of respect for Allah?

Allah marvels at the youth who does not incline to whims due to the strength of his resolve. The mention of marvel (marveling) has also appeared in other texts, such as: "Your Lord marveled at your despair and despondency," and "Our Lord marveled at a people who are led to Paradise in chains," as in the story of the Ansari who hosted a guest, and "Allah marveled at what you two did with your guest tonight."

Marveling is an attribute affirmed for Allah in the Qur'an, Sunnah, and the consensus of thenaf, and it is a real marvel that befits Allah. Its cause is something deviating from its likes or from what it ought to be.

As for the saying, "He whom Allah marvels at will not be held accountable," there is no religious text that supports it.

Regarding the phrase, "Let Allah see what I will do," it is permissible, as narrated from Anas ibn al-Nadr, may Allah be pleased with him.
