What should one do who has been masturbating in Ramadan for years and does not remember the number of days to be made up nor the amount of expiation due?

First, one must offer a sincere repentance for the sin by abandoning it, regretting it, and resolving not to return to it.

Second, it is obligatory to make up for the days when the fast was invalidated by the emission of semen due to that habit. If the number of days is unknown, then one should make up for what is most likely to clear their conscience.

Third, there is no expiation for delay if one was ignorant of the impermissibility of delaying the make-up fast until the beginning of another Ramadan (definition).
