Should a worshiper recite Qur’an for himself in a congregational audible prayer if he cannot hear the Imam’s recitation?

We have previously clarified the ruling on a congregant reciting Surat al-Fatiha when they cannot hear their Imam's recitation due to distance or deafness. It appears there is no difference between such a person and one who cannot hear the Imam's recitation due to poor hearing, as they are not truly considered to be hearing. The questioner may recite al-Fatiha silently while the Imam is reciting, or wait for the Imam to finish then recite it themselves. A Muslim should not be displeased with Allah's decrees, but rather accept His judgment, seek treatment, and ask Allah for healing and well-being, looking to those who are afflicted with greater trials.
