It can be added here that a question was posed to Sheikh Abdullah Al-Manea concerning the ruling on Tawarruq (monetization) with the Banque Saudi Fransi, where the bank sells metals it owns in Bahrain and is then appointed as an agent to sell them to a third party. Sheikh Al-Manea replied that this sale is impermissible because the buyer is not aware of the metals (their type, kind, description, and visibility), and because he is not certain of the bank's ownership of them, which makes the sale fictitious.
