The answer

Contributing to the construction of mosques and charitable projects, such as collecting money to establish a garden of trees that benefits Muslims, is a deed of great reward and an ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah) that benefits the donor after their death. Those who collect money for it are also rewarded. If the reward for these donations is gifted to the deceased, it will reach them, by Allah's will. However, it is preferable to avoid putting up lists with the names of donors, because concealing charity is better, and to avoid showing off and boasting. It is also better to plant fruit-bearing trees so that worshippers and passersby can benefit from them.
