Is there any basis or reference for the custom of placing a piece of bread found on the road in a place where it won't be trampled upon or mixed with garbage, unlike other types of food?

It is prescribed to lift bread from the ground and not leave it lying around, based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Honor bread." Bread is not singled out for special veneration above other foods; rather, all edible foods must be preserved. Bread should be lifted to a clean place without kissing it or raising it above the head, for honoring Allah's blessings brings gentleness and relief.
