Is it permissible to discard bread and food into the waste if it has become inedible or has been stored for too long in the refrigerator?

Bread and food are blessings that must be thanked for and preserved. Throwing them in the trash is a degradation and a waste of money. The correct approach is to give them to those who can benefit from them, such as the poor or animals, or to place them in a separate bag so that the sanitation worker can identify it and give it to someone who raises poultry and livestock, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "In every living being with a moist liver there is a reward." Sheikh Ibn Baz said: It is not permissible to throw food into sewers. Rather, it must be given to those in need or placed in a prominent place so that those who need it for their animals can benefit from it, or so that animals and birds can eat it. It is not permissible to place it in the trash, in dirty places, or on the road, as this involves degradation and harm.
