Is it permissible to backbite children and young people, and does it carry the same sin as regular backbiting?

The origin of backbiting is forbidden by the Qur'an, the Sunnah, and the consensus of the Ummah. It is not permissible to disparage children or harm them by mentioning what they dislike, for they share in the brotherhood of faith, and it causes harm to their adult relatives. Scholars have explicitly stated the prohibition of backbiting a person concerning themselves or their family. Moreover, it diminishes Allah's creation and wastes time on what is meaningless.
