Is it permissible to give charity, or fast, or pray, or do voluntary good deeds with the intention of being shielded from a major sin, or of achieving a wish, such as an increase in height?

A servant is veiled and forgiven, without being called to account for major sins, through seeking forgiveness and repenting from them. Likewise, performing acts of obedience with the intention of veiling and forgiving sins is permissible, because righteous deeds such as prayer, charity, and fasting are among the greatest means of drawing closer to Allah, and they are causes for the removal of evil deeds, the effacement of their traces, and the means to success and the answering of prayers. As for supplicating for an increase in height after one's stature has become stable, this is an transgression in supplication, because it is asking for something that goes against cosmic laws. It is worth noting that a servant's worth in the sight of Allah is determined by their faith and piety, not by their height or shortness.
