What is meant by Barakah (blessing), and how is it obtained in Surat Al-Baqarah and the 'Aqiqah, with details?

The intended meaning of "barakah" (blessing) is an increase in goodness, honor, growth, and benefit. It has also been said to mean purification and sanctification. It is not mentioned in the hadith (definition) that one who has not had an 'aqiqah (definition) (sacrificial offering for a newborn) performed for him will miss out on barakah. Rather, Imam Ahmad and others interpreted the hadith: "Every child is mortgaged by his 'aqiqah, which is sacrificed for him on the seventh day, his head is shaved, and he is named," to mean that whoever does not have an 'aqiqah performed for him will not intercede for his parents, likening the absence of intercession to being mortgaged. And whoever among the children does not have an 'aqiqah performed for him misses out on the goodness and barakah of this Sunnah (definition).
