If you touch a dry impure object with oil applied to a dry limb, the impurity does not transfer. If the limb is wet, there is a difference of opinion regarding its transfer, and it is permissible for the scrupulous (one suffering from obsessive doubts) to adopt the view that it does not transfer. It is not obligatory to wash the hand with soap to purify impurities if the hand is dry and oiled. However, if the hand is wet or moistened with oils, and you are certain it has been afflicted with impurity, the impurity will not be removed until the oil mixed with it is removed, and it may be necessary to use soap.
