What must Muslims do regarding insults to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and mockery of Islam and Muslims?

Slandering religion and ridiculing the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, is a trial that a Muslim should face with patience. This is not a new phenomenon; rather, it increases a Muslim’s certainty and love for the Messenger.

Muslims must: 1. Exercise self-control and deliberation, and utilize these events to serve the religion. 2. Repent and return to Allah, and be wary of sins and transgressions. 3. Refer to people of knowledge and insight, act upon their advice and guidance, and economically boycott products and services that have adopted these ideas. 4. Unite their ranks and unify their word, and beware of disunity.
