Is it permissible for a female employee to use government work equipment to perform her private tasks for a fee? And what is the ruling on the extra money that customers give to the employee; is it permissible for her to take it and donate it, or should it be kept in the treasury?
It has been previously stated that an employee's use of office tools is considered deception and a betrayal of trust, and that the money generated from it is unlawful () because it is money derived from trespassing on others' property. The work is not permissible by paying a percentage to the owner of the device.
This action must be ceased in the future. As for the money obtained, scholars have differed regarding its fate: whether it all belongs to the owner of the device or to the transgressor.
Regarding the remaining amounts with the accountant that their owners left: - If their owners told the accountant, "Take it," then it becomes his property, and he can dispose of it as he wishes. - If they did not say anything but left it due to lack of change, then it is their right, and the rulings of lost property (Luqata) apply to it.
