What is the ruling and expiation for a woman who prayed while she was menstruating out of shyness?

It is impermissible for a menstruating woman to pray, by consensus, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Is it not true that when a woman menstruates, she does not pray and does not fast?" And whoever does so must repent and seek forgiveness.
