It is recommended to be careful in purchasing notebooks free of images, if possible, without hardship. Otherwise, there is no harm in buying them, as they have become widespread and hardship brings ease. There is no blame for others viewing the images in the notebook. Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen states that images found in almost everything, if acquired by a person for the sake of the images themselves, are forbidden. However, if they are for knowledge and benefit, there is no harm in them due to the difficulty and hardship involved. If there is a fear of temptation due to the images, then magazines or newspapers should not be acquired.
