Are there any authentic Prophetic narrations (Hadith) about the virtue of helping people with special needs, such as the blind, the paralyzed, and the like?

Helping the blind and the deaf is considered charity (sadaqah). It is mentioned in the noble Hadith that among the gates of goodness are "making the deaf hear, and guiding the blind."
