What is the ruling on the sensation of needing to urinate without actually urinating?

Merely feeling the need to excrete, without resisting it, does not harm the prayer. However, if there is resistance (suppressing the urge), the prayer is disliked (makrooh) but valid according to the majority of scholars. This diminishes its reward and merit, but does not invalidate it.
