What is the safe way out of tribulations when truth is mixed with falsehood, and how does one know that he is on the right path?
A Muslim must be keen to reach the truth by seeking religious knowledge from its sources and adhering to what the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, his Companions, and those who followed them in goodness were upon, for they are the saved sect and the victorious group.
We advise you to study the books of the Salaf's methodology in belief and conduct, dedicate time to reciting the Holy Quran and pondering its meanings, and consult books of Tafsir (exegesis) and Hadith and their commentaries. If you encounter a disagreement in a matter, supplicate with the supplication mentioned in Sahih Muslim: "O Allah, Lord of Jibreel, Mika'eel, and Israfeel, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the seen, You judge between Your servants concerning that wherein they differ. Guide me to the truth concerning that wherein there is disagreement, by Your permission, for You guide whom You will to a straight path." Then ask trustworthy scholars about the preponderant opinion in that matter. Indeed, continuously seeking knowledge, teaching it, and inviting to Allah Almighty are among the greatest means of steadfastness upon the truth and righteousness upon the straight path.
