Is it permissible for the neighbors of a righteous man to testify in his favor against a wicked woman, knowing that they did not witness the incident, but based on their knowledge of his righteousness and her wickedness? And would this be considered a false testimony if it leads to the deliverance of their neighbor from injustice? And what is the legitimate Shar'i way to deliver him?
Bearing false witness is impermissible. However, you may testify before the court to what you know regarding the man's rectitude and the woman's corruption and injustice. You can also advise the witnesses to the incident to testify to what they saw, and admonish the woman, instilling in her the fear of Allah.
