What is the ruling on congregational prayer in mosques for a young man who lives a few miles away from the mosque, has his own car, and is compelled by his father to go to the mosque, especially for Fajr and Isha prayers? If someone is so far from the mosque that they cannot hear the call to prayer (adhan) without a loudspeaker, then congregational prayer in the mosque is not obligatory for them. However, if their father commands them to go to the mosque, they must obey him, because obedience to parents is obligatory in matters that do not involve disobedience to Allah. This obedience is even more incumbent if the command is for an act of obedience to Allah, such as performing a recommended act.
